Hi! My name is Chris and I've been around sports my whole life and love teaching and coaching kids. Having been on the pool deck assisting and cheering for the Sharks for so many years, I'm excited to be Head Coach.
My philosophy for swim team is threefold: fun, sportsmanship and fitness. My goal is to instill an atmosphere of fun competition with a focus on individual improvement and team building. I want the kids to challenge themselves while creating great memories and having fun.
Looking forward to the opportunity to coach your kids!
My name is Sarah Furr and I am a 5th grade teacher at Smithfield Elementary School in Charlotte, NC. I am originally from Bay City, Michigan and graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in 2010. I moved to Charlotte a little under 8 years ago and have fallen in love with this city!
For the past three years I have had the most amazing experience working with children of all different types of background as a teacher at Smithfield. I have been a swimmer most of my life. I began swimming in my parents’ backyard pool and eventually joined B.A.Y.S. (Bay Area Youth Swim) a year round competitive swim league which I was a part of until my junior year of high school. I am so excited to instil my love for the sport in your children and to help them improve their style of swim in a fun way! I have high hopes for this season and can’t wait for it to begin! I hope you are as excited as I am about this great team we have!
